Academic associate endorsement framework

AEV

  •

Background

We launched our academic associate membership in 2022 inviting academic establishments to join.

Academic associate members form the academic working group along with AEV member venues offering event management students access to our members and the opportunity to apply their knowledge, and experience the nature of working in a venue.

The AEV academic working group developed the endorsement framework over nearly two years, addressing four key attributes: technical skills, professional attributes, core values and events and venues expertise.

What is the framework?

The programme aims to provide assurance to students, teaching academia and to future event industry employers.

Students will know that any university carrying the AEV endorsed logo has worked directly with the industry to ensure they finish their studies with the requisite tuition, readying them for suitable post graduate employment in the events industry, in turn employers will know graduates from those universities have the necessary skills and knowledge.

The logo highlights the relevance of the degree to the industry - from a student and employer point of view.

Apply

Open to any AEV academic associate member, each degree submitted will require its own individual application by completing an AEV endorsement application pack.

Suites of degrees with sub-pathways e.g. a “BA Events Management” and “BA Events Management (with language)” can be included in the same application on condition that 75% of the degree content is otherwise identical.

Subsequent changes to AEV endorsed degrees involving more than 25% variation of the degree content will require submission of a summary of changes for AEV’s review.

There will be no additional charges for one such change review during each three (3) year endorsement cycle.
