The overarching goal of the working group is to enable consistency in threat intelligence dissemination, robust security practices and a collaborative stance on evolving security legislation.
Objectives include:
Establishing Common Security Standards: Develop and implement consistent security protocols and best practices across the event industry, tailored to the needs of venues, organisers, and suppliers.
Knowledge Sharing and Resource Pooling: Create an environment where security knowledge, tools, technologies, and experiences can be shared among stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement in security measures.
Coordinated Response to Threats: Facilitate faster and more efficient responses to emerging security threats, both on-site and through advanced intelligence-sharing.
Training and Education: Investigate how the Associations can offer joint training and certification programs for event organisers, venue staff, and suppliers, ensuring consistent, high-quality security practices.
Improving Crisis Management and Communication: Establish clear lines of communication and operational protocols for managing crises, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned and prepared.
Advocating for Policy Change: Work collectively to advocate for security-related legislative or regulatory changes that benefit the entire industry (Protect Duty).
